Dr. Dipika M. Parmar is an Ad Hoc Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at Shri Govind Guru University, Godhra. She has a strong academic background, having completed her Bachelor's degree in Sociology at Shri J. L. K. Koteja College, Kankanpur. She pursued her postgraduate, M.Phil., and Ph.D. studies at Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Anand, Gujarat. During her doctoral research, she was awarded a prestigious National Fellowship by the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi. In addition to her sociological studies, she also earned a B.Ed. degree, further strengthening her academic credentials.
Dr. Parmar joined the Department of Sociology at Shri Govind Guru University as a Visiting Professor in August 2022 and was later appointed as an Ad Hoc Assistant Professor in June 2023, a position she continues to hold. She has actively participated in numerous national and international seminars and conferences, where she has presented her research findings. With a keen interest in academic writing, she has published more than 12 research papers in esteemed national and international peer-reviewed journals. She has also been honored with the Best Research Paper Award at the Sardar Patel University SPU Meet, recognizing her contributions to sociological research.
Dr. Parmar’s research interests lie in diverse areas, including Widow Studies, Women Development, Sociology of Health, Gender and Society. She is deeply passionate about addressing atrocities against women and exploring contemporary social issues. Her participation in a state-level workshop on Research Methodology and Data Analysis in SPSS reflects her commitment to enhancing her research skills. With a curious and analytical approach, Dr. Parmar continues to contribute significantly to the field of sociology, striving to bring awareness and understanding to critical societal challenges.
